Super smoothie bowl

Is it a smoothie? Is it a cereal? No, it’s Super Smoothie Bowl! This super hero of the breakfast world is served with delicious fruit, grain and seed toppings.
Prep time:  10 minutes
Makes: 1 serve


For the smoothie
150mL water
5 scoops PediaSure strawberry
(or 200mL strawberry PediaSure ready-to-drink)
½ banana
1 Tablespoon Greek (thick, strained) yoghurt
1 teaspoon chia seeds

For the topping
1 Tablespoon blueberries
2 strawberries, sliced
1 Tablespoon puffed rice cereal
1 teaspoon desiccated coconut


  1. Blend smoothie ingredients. Pour into a bowl
  2. Arrange fruits and cereal on top, and sprinkle with coconut.


  • Smoothie bowls typically have the toppings artfully arranged in separate little piles but there are no rules – do it however you like.
  • Mix things up and try your child’s favourite cereal, or granola, or different puffed grains such as wheat, corn, quinoa or amaranth.
